Dear GAC-EPA members,
As President of GAC-EPA I would like to bring to your attention the following communiqué from the CERN Management.
On 2 June 2013 CERN will inaugurate a project entitled Big Bang Passport (Passeport Big Bang). This is a tourist and scientific trail consisting of ten exhibition platforms at ten CERN sites in the Pays de Gex and the Canton of Geneva. The platforms are connected by marked itineraries and a treasure hunt. This project is being run in collaboration with the communes of the Pays de Gex, Meyrin and Genève Tourisme so as to reinforce dialogue with our neighbours.
A popular and festive event will be organized for the inauguration. In the morning, families will be able to take part in cycle tours and the more sporty can test the 54 kilometre course in a timed mountain bike rally. In the afternoon, organized activities proposed by CERN, school and university establishments and local associations will take place on the ten parts of the route. We need volunteers to help us, in particular with the morning rally. We especially need volunteers in possession of a first-aid certificate to supervise the rally and family tours.
Volunteers can sign up on the “volunteers” page where they can choose their task.
Retired members of CERN are welcome and their participation would be appreciated.
You can contact Corinne Pralavorio for more information.
